Dried Whole Ginger - Tip of the Day

When you're out of fresh ginger, the dried, whole variety is a wonderful pinch hitter.

ginger

You could head to the spice aisle and grab yourself a jar of dried, ground ginger, but there's an easier and better way to get that crisp, light flavor in your cooking -- buy dried ginger root and grate a little in. It takes no added effort, no extra dishes and rubbing the root along the grater releases a wonderful aroma. The littlest bit goes a long way because the flavor is still locked inside. Scrape it a few times and you're set!
