Whether you use a fancy contraption or your fingers to separate eggs, sometimes a little yolk slips in. The best way to avoid contaminating a bowl of whites with a dose of yellow is to consistently separate the eggs in one bowl and then pour the whites into another. That way, one mistake doesn't ruin the whole batch.
However, should some yolk seep in, there are ways to get rid of it. Try catching the yolk by dipping a piece of bread in or using a moist, clean cloth. If all else fails, don't trash the egg! There is no reason to throw out what can easily be used later. Mistakes make for future egg washes on baked goods, tasty omelets and other eggy pleasures. If you choose to freeze them, remember to refer to our earlier tip. Let no egg go unloved!
