Suzanne Sugarbaker Cocktail

woman with cocktail glass and shakerWhen it comes to naming drinks after people -- whether they be real or fictional -- what comes first? Do you decide to honor a personage and then make the appropriate cocktail, or do you mix it up and then go, "Hmmm... who does this remind me of?"

For the Suzanne Sugarbaker, it was definitely the latter. A cocktail made with sweet tea vodka and rose petal nectar seemed rather Southern belle-like and, given that there is already a Scarlett O'Hara, this seemed the way to go.
Suzanne Sugarbaker

3 oz. Sweet Tea vodka
2 oz. Sence Rose Petal Nectar
Juice of One Small Lime
Mint leaves for garnish

Mix ingredients and shake over ice. Pour into chilled cocktail glass and garnish with mint leaves. If you happen to have some rose petals lying around, that might be nice too.

Of course, there are more television character drinks. The Gilligan's Island is vodka and schnapps or, if you fancy something a little more light and refreshing, there's the Mary Ann With Ginger. The Marge Simpson is, unsurprisingly, blue and the Bart Simpson is a (rather disgusting-sounding) shot.

Something that looks all sweet & delicate like a Georgia peach ... but then it punches you in the gut like Suzanne Sugarbaker would often do (esp if you scorned her) ... LOL
