2-13-2009 @12:13AM Tony2X said... Blah. Green & Blacks only rates a couple of notches up from Hershey's. In my view it is comparable to Lindt and Scharffenberger, both good chocolates in their own right but I wouldn't call any of them 'high quality'.
Green & Blacks doesn't melt very well, especially their white chocolate which has a tendancy to seize, even when heated over a very low heat.

The first thing Cadbury did with Green and Black was to change the production recipe to make it so that it was no longer vegan. Many vegans who choose it because it met their dietary standards are unaware of this. We'll see what happens with hershey's ownership but its interesting that the name Hershey appears no where on the Dagoba website. Given Hershey's history of turning a blind eye to child slave labor, it is a big PR coup for them to now have a claim to Dagoba's internal culture of adhering to internationally recognized moral standards.
