Cocktails That "Cure" Your Colds and Flu

I've long fantasized about stirring up a throat and soul warming Theraflutini -- an ersatz cold medicine and bourbon toddy that thus far exists only in my (hack, hack, sniffle...) imagination. Turns out, I'm not the only one. Our sister blog Lemondrop has gathered up a medicine bag full of bars serving cocktails that are good for what ails you, plus recipes for a few you can administer at home.

For instance:
"C-creature: In Walnut Creek, Calif., the Spoontonic Lounge makes Emergen-C cocktails by request. The C-creature is a combination of Absolute Mandarin, a packet of Emergen-C (citrus flavor), soda water, fresh orange wedge and a splash of OJ. Add a shot of vodka to the Emergen-C and you've got yourself a B-12 Bomber."
In my mind, the Theraflutini is served with a crushed St. Joseph's baby aspirin rim. Anyone else entertain such multitasking cocktail notions? Share in the comments, why don'tcha?

I'll keep this in mind for next time...

There are even warnings on the sides of the bottle that specifically say don't mix with alcohol. Emergen-C is just vitamin c, so that's fine (though take it from someone who has gotten drunk and fashioned a shot with this very ingredient: gross), but don't under any circumstances mix drinking with cold medicine. Unless you're a cast member of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, your body isn't meant to combine these ingredients.

that's just booze, and perfectly acceptable. it's putting, say, theraflu or robitussin in with the whiskey that I object to.

Drink as much of it as you can stand, then take a nap. Inevitably, you wake up having been in a cold sweat, but you feel great.

It takes will power to down straight whiskey while you're feeling like crap though. So I only use this method when there's something I REALLY have to do that requires me not to be sick.

So crushing it into small bits that could easily get stuck somewhere? Really horrible idea, even ignoring the adding it to alcohol part.
