Tip of the Day: Reheat frozen stews appropriately

It's that time of the year again when we start to accumulate winter stews. We freeze them and reheat them to eat on a dark cold winter day. Find out how to reheat your frozen stews appropriately.

It's important to thaw food safely. Place the frozen stew in the refrigerator for 24 to 48 hours. Since stews are relatively high in moisture content compared to other precooked foods, they should be thawed in the refrigerator and not at room temperature.

To reheat the stew, add a quarter to a half cup of water to a saucepan to prevent scorching. Cover the pan and heat over medium heat. Make sure to stir frequently. Boil for one minute to make sure it's fully heated.

Finally, take out a bowl and fill it up with your savory aromatic winter stew.
