
Kitt of the Kittalog recently got a chance to taste a Dragonfruit for the first time (thanks to the White on Rice Couple) and pronounces it very tasty and smooth, sort of like perfectly ripe honeydew melon. The photos were taken with a point-and-shoot on macro setting. The fruit was on a white cutting board in front of a window.

I think it tastes more closely like a Kiwi but not too sweet. Also, you don't have to use a spoon. You can peel the outer part and slice it.

12-04-2008 @7:40PM Linds said... I remember my brother describing a dragonfruit as looking like a pokemon! They're very weird looking beasts and to be honest, of the couple I've tried, I didn't think they were very exciting. A bit of a let down, but it may just have been a poor representation!
