Slashfood Tip: Emergency cocktail

Unexpected guests have arrived and your fridge is bare. Here's how to create a drink out of next to nothing.

Oh my goodness. You have an unexpected guest, you want to offer them a mixed drink, and you have nothing, nothing on hand with which to mix your vodka or gin. No soda. No tonic. No Rose's Lime. Nothing.

In some cases, offering a guest a vodka on the rocks is okay...but if you offered that to me, I probably wouldn't take it. Go ahead and laugh, I'm a delicate flower.

Here's my tip: you probably have lemon juice in your fridge and sugar/sweetener on hand. You can mix lemon juice, water, and sugar with just about any clear spirit (including tequila) to make a convincing Spiked Lemonade.

Just don't let them see you do it!
