Tip of the Day: Menus as Art

Ever wish you could take home more than a doggy-bag from your favorite restaurant? Ask for a menu, and turn it into art.

I've always admired my grandmother's kitchen not because of her cooking, but rather for what adorns the walls. She has framed menus from her favorite restaurants, and they look so classy and chic as kitchen decorations.

Now that so many restaurants daily menus to feature new ingredients and specials, ask for a copy next time you visit restaurant that you love. You could even collect menus when you travel for an international collection! For a 50s-style kitchen, go with bright diner menus. If your kitchen is more Country French, display a group of menus from your favorite bistros.

Too shy to ask for a menu? Colorful takeout menus make far better collages than scraps clipped to the fridge.
