Eighty percent off at Restaurant.com

When I first moved to Philadelphia, I got a job at a non-profit organization. I was at the bottom of the food chain there and made nearly no money. When I paid my bills each month, there wasn't much left over for the entertainment fund. Thankfully, a friend turned me on to Restaurant.com, a site that allows you to buy $25 restaurant gift certificates for just $10. My social vistas opened wide up.

I haven't used the site in a while, but I got a tip today from a friend that currently, all gift certificates on Restaurant.com are 80% off and they'll stay that way until 1 pm tomorrow (October 15th). That means that you'll be able to get a $25 certificate for the crazily low price of $2 (remember to use the coupon code 'EIGHTY'). Just be forewarned, not all areas will have certificates available (it looks like the Philadelphia area is already sold out).

Too bad, it isn't on sale in Alabama. Also, there is no mention of the sale on the restaurant.com site?

Everything is still the same price (with the same terrible restrictions for most [read: almost all] vendors: "Valid for dinner only with a minimum $35 food purchase. Excludes alcohol. 18% gratuity added before discount. Not valid w/ other promos. Dine-in only.")

Oh well, what do I expect in Alabama... I never thougt much of Restaurant.com anyway...this just confirms.

An alternative option is to take advantage of their "dinner of the month" club. This way, you have access to certificates over one year and you receieve a nice bonus too.

In order to take advantage of the 80% off, make sure you type in "EIGHTY" for the discount code.

Thanks for catching the link on my site! 80% is the best deal they've done as far as I know.

I caught the Dinner of the Month club last time they offered an 80% coupon, and I also scored a free $50 dining certificate for a year-long membership. So I got $350 worth of dining certificates for $24. If I use one it pays for itself!
