When I first started writing for Slashfood, back in the summer of 2007, one of the first posts I wrote was one about freezing grapes and using them to cool sangria without watering down your drink. What I didn't say in that post is that frozen grapes also make a delicious snack, even when they aren't soaked in sweetened wine and booze. Grab a few as a healthy substitute for a popsicle.

As usual we're on the same wave.
This fall has been a really great season for grapes of all kinds, but we get busy now, with school in session, so I've been separating the grapes from their stems and loading them into freezer containers. After dinner, instead of the summers-only ice cream for dessert, we each get our own bowl of frozen grapes (whatever varieties we like) and munch on those for that spare 1/2 hour of TV we can muster after hours of homework and before bedtime. The grapes are like little frozen sugar balls and definitely satisfy an evening sweet tooth.
