Tip of the Day: Getting the odor out

I hate when odors become a problem in the kitchen, especially when they've become attached to containers and the microwave. Here are a couple of deodorizing tips.

View from inside a microwave of someone opening the door.
For plastic containers that have taken on unpleasant odors, all you need is some newspaper. Clean the container, dry it out, and crumple up some newspaper inside. After the paper has been sealed inside for a few days, the odor should be gone.

As for the microwave, lemons do the trick. Well, lemon juice to be more accurate. Add a few ounces of lemon juice to a cup of water, put the cup in the microwave, and turn it on for a minute or so. The heated lemon water will help remove those odors.
