1Paula, love ya but don't be duped by a politician, even a politician's wife. Michelle Obama is about in touch with average person as Lindsey Lohan or Paris Hilton. I'm sure she pops into the kitchen to check in her kitchen staff but she's about as authentic as Hillary's chocolate chip cooke recipe.

5I am in complete agreement with Judi below. We have all loved Paula and respect whatever private decision that she will make in the voting booth. But, using celebrity status to advocate for a candidate is unacceptable.
I suppose that Paula, like Oprah, will decide to invite Cindy McCain or Sarah Palin after the election. Convenient...

7I could not agree more with the previous poster, Judi. BTW, Monika, chances are quite good that if in fact actual invitations were given to the others, it was done ages ago due to scheduling requirements. Ms. Palin has only been the VP candidate for about two weeks so unless Paula is also a mystic, there's no way Sarah Palin was "invited" at the same time as Ms. Obama.
I somehow doubt Ms. Obama can even locate her kitchen, much less prepare anything substantial in it. On the other hand, Ms. Palin could no doubt show Paula how to catch a salmon then clean, cook, serve and clean up. (No, Paula, you don't deep fry salmon, sorry.)
Like Judi, I will no longer watch Paula's shows although I must admit I've slowly been watching them less and less. My arteries cannot stand all that butter, cream, etc. I have zero interest in knowing Paula's politics and she would do well to keep some things private.
I will not be buying Paula's cookbook(s), pots and pans, hams, mac & cheese, etc nor will I watch her shamelessly hawk her wares on QVC.
I guess Paula has finally fallen under the spell of celebrity and money. Such a shame.....we'll miss you, Paula, but we'll get over it; will you?
8Being a native of Georgia, I know you can't mix politics with food and not expect to lose frieds. Paula, it was OK to have Jimmy Carter on your show since he is from GA and no longer in office. I watch Paula for food ideas, not politics. Guess I won't be watching in the future.
9WOW! What's going on? I Googled, and ended up here. I just brought the mail in, and thought my wife would be happy to see Paula on the cover of Ladies Home Journal. I heard a magazine hit the trash can. My wife and daughter told me what was happening. I'm not involved, but I don't think our TV will be on that channel Saturday. Just asking:Does anybody know if Laura Bush has ever been on Paula's show?
10Good grief! I had no idea so many wing-nut Republicans were interested in cooking! Just for the record, until a couple of years ago the Obama family were just ordinary folks who did their own cooking and cleaning. I bet Michelle can hold her own in the kitchen, and she is certainly smart enough to avoid killing and eating a wild moose, unlike certain other popular political figures.
11C, it sounds like you're white dem as is PC. I'm actually a minority. Shock horror, minorities on this blog! I am married to a caucasian women and I'm her staff. My minority mom did it all, she worked and came home every night and made dinner. As ethnic minorities it was NOT something you could pick up in the deli aisle on the way home. Why do the dem insist on making race a perpetual issue? PC, what's wrong with Moose? Good golly, if you read this blog, chefs and writers are always talking about getting closer to the food's source. Hunters are about as close as you can get. But I should expect those kind of comments as well as injections about race from Dems. The only people who keep bringing up race are the people with the (D) behind their names. C and PC, are such cowards that you can't even make up a name?
12What the heck is wrong with people? I am not a democrat and I will not vote for Obama but I believe Paula has a right to stand behind whom-ever she chooses. I doubt if Paula cares if you watch her anymore or not. If you ever were a true fan of hers you would stand behind her since none of us can agree on everything all the time.
14In reply to Judi, so what you're saying is, any 'true' southerner would not vote for a black person for the White House, but you would trust them to work in 'your' house and raise your children. Michele is much more worthy to be in the White House than some backwoods hillbilly sidekick.
15Paula Dean has clearly over exposed herself. I am sick and tired of her silly put on southern ways. Women in the south with intelligence don;t act like Paula Dean. If you are not sure what I am talking about check out the interview she had with Larry King. I was totally embarressed that she was from the South. Besides being plain silly she had to tell she was having an affair wih a married man when she met Micheal. And what about her children's father she may not like him but he should not be put down out of respect to her boys. And Janie us just as silly and silly looking with the hair on his chin as Paula. Bobby must act and look like his father, thak God.

17I have always loved your shows Paula, but am shocked that you would have Michelle Obama on your show. Mixing Politics with a food show results in a sour dish for a large percentage of your viewers. I've never responded to a blog before, but this was very offensive. If you want to have the winning wife on your show later - more power to you!
