Tip of the Day: A couple of berry tips

The season for berries is almost over, but here are a couple of tips on preparing them to be used.

Several small boxes of strawberries.
I hate when a recipe calls for you to chop up dried fruit. The fruit gets everything all sticky and it takes forever. Apparently though, you can freeze the berries for about an hour before you need to use them and they'll be a lot easier to chop. I also like to use my food processor, and next time I'll try the frozen dried fruit in that.

Should you ever need to core your fresh strawberries, here's an easy way to do it. Use a plastic straw. Just push it from the top down through the bottom and you'll have the white core out in no time.
