Free Chik-Fil-A chicken strips for wearing a team logo
On September 1st, go into any participating Chik-Fil-A wearing a sports team logo and they'll give you an order of their "new and improved" chicken strips. The logo can be from any level of football team, even the one your kid is on.
When I read about this on Fast Food Critic, I immediately thought it was a good deal, Chik-Fil-A being one of the few fast food places that I think has reasonably good food. Fast food Critic also gave the new chicken strips a good review. Can I borrow a team logo hat from someone?

If I could only eat at one fast food restaurant for the rest of my life it would be chick-fil-a. I love them!
Chick-Fil-A is the only fast food I'll eat anymore, because they have sides that aren't fried and greasy. I love the carrot salad and the coleslaw.
Their chicken sandwiches do seem more like real grilled chicken than other places, too. The only thing I don't like is they don't serve tomatoes and onions on their sandwiches.
No Tim, I'm not confused. I lived in Atlanta for 27 years, so yes, I've eaten at CFA. Their food (like most fast food) has gone down in quality over the years. I live in a small town out west now, but CFA managed to follow me out here three years ago. The wife and I went to eat at the new CFA a few times until she became extremely ill with a case of food poisoning after one visit. We don't go there anymore.
Good food? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I suppose. That 4-piece basket of chicken fingers you all are raving about has 1300 mg of sodium (half of the RDA) and 23 grams of fat. Throw in a side of coleslaw and waffle potatoes and we're up to 1800 mg of sodium and 75 grams of fat -- a real health fest.
Do youself a favor and make some real fried chicken using meat that isn't pumped up with salt and chemicals. You'll be amazed at how good it tastes.
Ed T,
We will have to agree to disagree. Because in my opinion, and the opinion of almost everyone I've ever talked to, Chick-fil-a makes good food with good flavor. Even people at major food websites like slashfood, chowhound and seriouseats give chick-fil-a respect and they don't like many fast food joints.
As for salt or fat that's another issue. Obviously fast food is not the healthiest choice for everyday eating. It should be a treat or occasional indulgence.
Ed T.,
I used to work at Chick-fil-a. While I can't speak for other stores, I can personally vouch for the chicken in the stores I worked for. (Being a very curious person, I checked). I had to 'filet' hundreds of chicken breasts...I definitely know it's real chicken!! It's all white meat and it's illegal to add hormones and such to any chicken....Salt is not added to the chicken (although naturally, the fries have salt- but you can request it without it), it's flavored by both the chicken, peanut oil, and batter- which doesn't have any additional preservatives, sodium, etc...
As for the Chicken Salad Sandwiches, yes, that's real chicken in there as well. It's made from the same meat as the chick-fil-a sandwiches.
