Over the last four years, we've published countless recipes, food stories, product reviews and general food tips. The natural of a blog means that all that good content gets buried pretty quickly by the newer posts and so I thought it would be a good time to dig deep and do a little time traveling in order to bring you some of the best summertime recipes we've posted over the years.
- Whole Wheat Zucchini Muffins - I came up with this recipe last summer when I was inundated with zucchini. I've made it in bread form twice so far this year to excellent results.
- Tired of iced tea and sodas this summer? Why not try some homemade mint water or some cucumber aqua fresca?
- Back in the summer of 2006, Nicole wrote a great spotlight on heirloom tomatoes and included a variety of links to some delicious tomato recipes across the food blogosphere.
- Looking for ways to use up some of the veggies come out of the garden? How about a blended summer veg soup?
- Steamed corn is good, but grilled corn is great. Here's a how-to on the best way to cook your corn on the grill.
- Thai-inspired melon salad is a great picnic dish, as it uses familiar ingredients but incorporates fresh flavor.
- This time of year, dessert means fruit-based confections. Try Nicole's Black Cherry Buttermilk Ice Cream for a different kind of frozen treat.
- Check out my favorite summer dessert, the fruit crisp. Last summer, I made a Blueberry-Nectarine one that turned heads and made me many news friends. Crisp has that power.
