I've learned over the years that one of the vital rules when cooking for both meat-eaters and vegetarians is that you have to do everything you can not to contaminate your vegetarian cooking vessels and tools with anything meaty. I first awoke to this mandate when I found myself in charge of grilling for both camps of eaters at various potlucks and picnics. I would bring two sets of spatulas and tongs, so as to ensure that I didn't render food inedible for vegetarians.
However, it seems that KFC in Canada has not learned that same no-contamination lesson that I assimilated during college. They recently announced that they would carry a "non-chicken" sandwich in order to have a menu option available to vegetarians and vegans. However, according to Ecorazzi, they cook this meat-free patty in the same fryers in which they cook their meat-based meals, which renders it unappealing to the vast majority of the no-meat crowd.
I realize that it might be naive of us to think that KFC would have thoroughly thought out their vegetarian plan, but it seems to me that in order to keep offering these sandwiches, they're going to have to declare at least one fryer per store a no-meat zone.

But I've taken this to the next level by using
the new 14% flour that makes incredible fried food. If you taste this, you wont want any other fried stuff.

THATS DRINKING AN ANIMALS REPRODUCTIVE PRODUCTS! that is against the rules! and do they deprive them of cow or goats milk? THATS NEGLECT! that soy milk doesnt have the nutrients babies need to be healthy, i understand why lactose intolerant babies are sheltered. and if the parents are breastfeeding of giving animals milk, isnt that hypocritical? why are they not indulging in animal products but they let their children? i dont understand people who despise meat products. and alot of the veggies and grains they eat are fertilized by animal CRAP!

That's rude and foolish.

The secret is you have to start with 14% pizzaria
flour.(14% protein)
After you spread the dough on a 17 inch pan top it with grilled onions & bell peppers, portabello mushrooms sauteed in olive oil, sliced black olives,
and the most expensive tomato sauce you can find.
Bake it at 450 deg for 15 min until the crust becomes poofy and browned. Serve it hot.
Trust me, even with out the animal ingredients this is like heaven.

You don't need to yell and rant about things you don't understand.

maybe you could poxst to those earlier veg/vegan posters who all but called meat eaters murderers. that's who i'm i really don't care who eats what, but for myself. it's just odd that zealous veg/vegans expect be accomodated when they aren't smart enough to bring their own fare to a party. can you imagine the reaction if i brought a steak to their house b/c i knew meat wouldn't be served but that's what i felt like eating? even if i brought a personal hibachi to cook it on, it would be considered the equivalent of bringing pork to a seder. yet veg/vegans are usually accomodated if their friends are thoughtful. i.e., there's something for everyone's palate, not just the "moral" ones.

After 80+ posts of people telling vegetarians to "suck it" and making fun of our lifestyle, I think I'm the least mean person here.

There's no way in HELL I'd ever bend my cooking rules to accommodate a vegan or vegetarian. Our g'daughter and her hubby are vegetarians, and when they come to our house, they either eat what I cook or leave hungry. They're weird, anyway, with their collective "Goth" look; they don't try to dress to please me, so why should I go out of my way to cook strange stuff for them? There's no "moral or ethical" reasons for this behavior; only until the last few years has this even been an issue. and the "PC thing to do". Morons - all of you.
You disgust me!! Do your family a favor, and don't invite them over at all. They will be better off without someone with your attitude!!! My sister is vegan, and when she comes to visit of course I provide foods I know she will be able to eat!!! She is my guest, and I love her! Guess you hate your family. You must invite them over just to make them feel bad that you don't care about them. Unbelievable.
