Tip of the Day: Easily remove stains from your cookware

After cooking a delicious meal, one of the most frustrating experiences happens when you are left with dishes full of stains that refuse to go away.


Copper pots and pansHard-to-remove stains can become nerve wrecking. The good news is that by following some simple steps you could make them spick-and-span in no time. Below are some basic suggestions you can follow to easily remove stains from your cookware:
  • For non-stick cookware, such as Teflon, boil two tablespoons of baking soda, a half cup of vinegar, and one cup of water for ten minutes. The next time you use the pan, season it with olive oil.
  • To remove burnt food from a glass baking dish spray it with an oven cleaner, and then, let it soak for 30 minutes. This will make the burnt food much easier to wipe off.
  • A can of tomato soup can help you clean clean copper bottoms on pots and pans. Rub the tomato soup paste on the pan. Then, rinse. This tactic helps keep copper and brass items looking shiny and clean.
  • The juice from a jar of dill pickles can also be used to clean the copper bottoms of your pans. Place the pan in a large bowl of this juice for about 15 minutes.
