Feast Your Eyes: Hawaiian hamburger rolls

hawaiian hamburger rolls
I can't tell you how many burgers I've made over the years (I made turkey burgers for dinner just last night!). However, I've never attempted to make the buns for those burgers myself. However, Rachel at Coconut & Lime is an adventurous kind of girl and so created a slightly sweet bun, inspired by King's Hawaiian rolls. She says that hers aren't quite as sweet as King's rolls, but that they make terrific vehicles for burgers and sandwiches. I bet they'd also be tasty toasted with a little jam for breakfast.

Thanks Rachel, for adding your image to Slashfood Flickr pool!

Hey Big John, I think you should be okay without the ginger, although you'll lose that tiny bit of heat that ginger adds (and it probably serves as a nice counterpoint to the vanilla). But it certainly won't screw up the recipe and I'm sure that they will still be tasty.
