I know champagne isn't really that popular a Fourth of July beverage, but what about one that's red, white and blue?
Pommery is offering a real French Champagne, but the bottle is designed with red and white stripes and a blue area that has stars on it. The bottle is topped in silver foil, and looks quite nice. The post over on Cool Hunting that has the best image of the bubbly.
Pommery is aiming this Champagne, called Pop America, squarely at those in the US. Why, I'm not quite sure, but it comes in mini bottles at $15 each. The smaller size and reasonable price make this a good candidate for your patriotic party.

Reasonable price? Come on... that's like $60 bucks a bottle (if my math is correct). "Reasonable" means that most of your readers would consider buying it at that price. I just wonder how many people that read this blog can afford (and appreciate) a $60 bottle of champagne. I can't. But maybe that's just me.

I think it should be. After all, if it we didn't have help from the French, this country wouldn't exist as we know it today. For better or worse. (I think better).

Right with you there Robert. $15 is WAY too much. And if it's the "normal" POP bottle from Pommery, they are tiny tiny. Maybe a glass, glass and a half if you have small flutes. POP is generally good, but I liked it a lot better when it was $6 a bottle (only 4 years ago).

I was given a bottle, and it was perfectly delicious, with an exceptionally cute little package, complete with straw. You're paying for novelty, though. I've found it for as little as $12/bottle (which works out size-wise to 1/4 of a regular Champagne bottle) online -- which isn't so bad if you're used to paying $12+ for a cocktail, but pretty shocking and anti-economical if you're not.
Prosecco is generally my preference for price and flavor, and it's also considerably less expensive.
