Here's a link to the company's website:

http://www.vollwerth.com

Every time I have a chance to head up to that area, I take home several packages with me. Even friends of mine who live elsewhere, and never had heard of Vollwerth's before (but have their first hot dog at my house), also end up agreeing that there is no better hot dog.

Be sure to check out their products, because Vollwerth's makes a number of other great sausages, too.

As a member of Weight Watchers, I even like the 97% fat free Hebrew National and for a small 6 points (wheat bun included) I can have two for lunch and still many points left for dinner. My son introduced these to me and I haven't bought another brand since.

They are one of the reasons Rochester NY transplants like me are overjoyed that Wegman's is expanding their stores into the MD/VA region.

They are made in Flint Michigan and are sold at stores almost exclusively in Michigan and Ohio. Due to thousands of requests from people who have tasted them and can't forget how wonderful they are they can now be purchased online at http://www.koegelmeats.com/buy.cgi. People who have moved away from Flint to all corners of the world, buy them by the case when they return for visits to take home with them because they have yet to find another hot dog anywhere that compares!

Now, the best are at Moore's Country store, just outside the city. At home, I like the cheap ones, because they are better tasting, and when I cook them in the frying pan, they brown better, and I can brown with the best of them. Just kidding. I have never seen a hot dog I did not like. Even the ones Mama used to bring us from downtown Kressege dime store. Can you beat that one?
