
This picture of a Deep Dish Sausage and Tomato Pizza was taken by the Vicarious Foodie and represents something of a victory for her. She's been trying to make pizzeria-quality pizza at home for some time, but without a pizza stone, she couldn't get the crust quite right. However, a recipe from Sara Moulton in which the pizza is cooked in a cast iron pan. Looks pretty darn tasty to me!

6-04-2008 @11:19AM Paul Cole said... I've been doing this for awhile now. This recipe looks similar to mine, but I like a little more cornmeal and a little less white flour. Depending on what I have on hand, I even sometimes replace a little of the white flour with some semolina. Here's a picture of one result:

That and using the broiler in conjunction with properly heated tiles cooks a pretty good pizza.
