Tip of the Day: You can put more than butter on corn on the cob

Sure, you put butter and salt on your corn on the cob, but what about peanut butter?

I have to admit that I never thought of this before, even though it has the word "butter" in it, but how about spreading peanut butter on your corn on the cob instead (scroll down to comments)? I bet it adds a nice, peanutty taste to the corn taste. There are two ways to do it. You can either spread it on after the corn on the cob is finishing boiling, or you can spread a thin layer on the corn and cover it (with foil or in the husk, which many people swear by) and cook it on the grill. I've never grilled my corn on the cob so I think I'll try this (though I wonder if the peanut butter will get too hot and hard).

Or how about rosemary and sage on your corn?

We also wrapped bacon around it before "grilling" it - although the host may have put it in the coals like you do with potatoes. We were camping out. It was the best corn on the cob I've ever had. I still try to think up a good way to serve these flavors but not on the cob. Haven't come up with a good way yet. The bacon would be too greasy but I don't want to precook it since the flavor of the bacon comes through so much better if it is cooked with the corn. Try it - you'll like it. Peanut butter goes so well with so many unexpected foods.
