Back in January we told you about the disappearance of Hydrox Cookies, loved by many but apparently not enough. But fans of the cream-filled cookies take note: they're coming back!
Kellogg is bringing back the cookies in their original recipe, with one big difference: no more trans fats! The cookies will start showing up on store shelves this summer. It's part of the company's way of saying thank you to the hardcore Hydrox fans who wanted the cookies to make a comeback (it's a limited edition, but I'm sure they'll be back for good, right?).
I'm going to get a bag of them and do a taste test with Oreos and settle this "which cookie is better" question once and for all.

Hooray! So glad to know we'll soon have Hydrox in the stores. My husband always preferred them to Oreos. Hydrox have a deeper chocolate taste and are not so sweet. We hope this will be permanetly in the stores!

I recently purchased a bag of Pecan Sandies and noticed the 0 trans fat blurb on the label. The next thing I noticed was that the cookies were completely inedible. If Hydrox cookies suffer the same fate, they sure won;t be around long.

The article says- do a comparison between Hydrox and oreos? Why do that- Hydrox are clearly better.
A quick story,I found that Famous Amos had a sandwich cookie that came pretty close- I offered one to my niece who was 13 at the time. She said- "you don't understand, I have eaten Hydrox my whole life!"
The great thing is she told me a Hydrox eater as long as I can remember and I am over 50....

Just got my free hydrox cookies from my employer as a sample package (two in fact). They are just as good as I remember. If you would like a pic, let me know. I plan to only open one and decide later what to do with the other. I'm very excited to get these on the shelves. We've been anxiously waiting for Kellogg to give the green light.

OMG! They're coming back? Finally! Sign me up for a case. I've been eating them for 50 years and Oreos can't come close to the taste of Hydrox.

I say I grew up on hydrox. I could eat probable 4 packages a week. Of course they needed dunked in milk. When they left the shelf, I quite buying store cookies all togather. Thought to my self, couldn't they hang in there like the Cola war. Bring them on I live in Wasington State.

I always thought that Nabisco used their clout on their other products to squeeze grocers shelves until there was no more room for Sunshine cookies

I totally agree with previous comments. Hydrox have it all over Oreo. My kids grew up with Hydrox and are very excited they are coming back. Let's make sure it's not just for a limited time by letting Keebler/Kellogg's know we want them back forever.

I knew I couldn't find them in the stores. I kept asking my dad who is 80 years old to help me locate them because that is all he bought when I was a kid. L love hydrox cookies and am going to keep looking for them. Last week before I knew they were ocming back, I studied the cookie isle trying to figure out where they could be. How long have they been gone. I know it's been a long time because I've been thinking about them forever.
