Wondering how to keep your radishes fresh and crisp? This reader-submitted tip will save the day.

Reader Marianne writes in with this suggestion:
A tip on radishes... As soon as they start looking wilty (or as soon as you get them home from Shoprite and take them out of the terrible plastic bag they come in, which is the only way Shoprite sells them) cut off the root and leafy ends and throw them in a jar of water. I use an old salsa jar. Then stick the jar in the fridge. The radishes will last at least a week, if not longer. But my CSA starts next week so Shoprite radishes are a thing of the past... until the fall at least. :)
This is a good tip whether your radishes are coming from your CSA or your local grocery store. With all the gorgeous radishes at the Farmers' Markets these days, it is nice to keep those veggies delicious and at their best.
