I love it when people care. Even if it's about something minor, like whether you can get a slice of lemon with a Starbucks iced tea, it's always refreshing when someone actually gives a damn. I feel like I'm generally too busy (read: lazy) to care about things, and it's good to know that someone out there is doing the caring for me. Plus, caring gets other people caring.Take, for example, Al Lewis at the Denver Post, who cares desperately about the fact that Starbucks doesn't provide fresh lemons to squeeze in iced tea. I never noticed it before, but now that I think about it, I might really like that option. I always ask for lemon with iced tea in restaurants, but it never occurred to me that Starbucks has been denying me. So while part of me thinks Al Lewis should just invest his time in finding another establishment for purchasing out tea, more of me thinks he keeps fighting the good fight. Your thoughts?

Dude needs to get his tea at Sonic, where the flavor isn't limited to "with lemon" or "without."
Nice to know someone out there still cares.

There's a Starbucks in Al's building. The Sonic is six blocks away.

If lemons are only important to you in hindsight, they really never were important to begin with.

As a born-and-raised Southern girl, the practice of putting lemon in iced tea thing has always mystified me. Lemons are for lemonade, not tea.

That's why I like Chipotle -- they put out limes, which are -awesome- in iced tea.

Maybe Al should watch this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qeye8wnBJoU
He may be getting germs with his lemon and maybe Starbucks is saving him from a few.

Ooor he could just bring some lemon slices of his own and pop them in the work fridge?
Besides the point, I think. Anyway, I always enjoyed that Panera puts out lemons for their customers.

Does anyone know the logistics of trying to have "fresh lemons" at Starbucks stores? To get them (many of the Starbucks distributors don't even have lemons as an option), cut them, keep them on hand in a refridgerated place, and then throw them out when they go bad would be a massive waste of time and money just to serve a few people who choose to destroy their tea. Get over yourselves, you don't like the tea, go somewhere else. Starbucks might be evil, but it isn't because they fail to serve lemons.

hey people???
what about BYOL...Bring Your Own Lemon, buy one of those plastic lemons with the juice inside, or lemon juice packets...I am sure you can find them in restaurant supply stores or on the internet.
in the case of the plastic squirt lemons, try the produce or Juice aisles in the supermarket.

Starbucks makes a shaken tea/lemonade that is really refreshing. My fiance and i order them all summer. You even get to choose which tea you like green, black or passion.
