Tuesday Happy Hour: Esplanade 1925

maraschino liqueur I think I inadvertently started a cocktail "theme" week here yesterday: cocktails with numbers. Yesterday I had the Shane 75, and today is the recipe for Esplanade 1925. This one is also from Imbibe.

It's a drink that was inspired by the Regent Hotel Esplanade in Zagreb. Esplanade 1925 also happens to be the named of the lounge/bar there.

Esplanade 1925

1 1/2 oz. gin
1 oz. maraschino liqueur
1/2 oz. grenadine
1/2 oz. grapefruit juice

Shake ingredients vigorously in shaker. Strain into cocktail glass and garnish with a radish (star-shaped, if you're talented), a long orange peel (dangling out of the glass) and mint.

I really enjoyed the Esplanade 1925. It's a very summery drink, and am looking forward to it finally becoming warm enough around here to sit on the deck sipping these.
