This pizza is so new that DiGiorno doesn't even have any info about it at their web site, except a picture of the box.
This is the latest pizza in DiGirono's "Ultimate" line. They just keep releasing pizzas that are the ultimate this and the ultimate that. They should just go ahead and name a product This Is The Only Pizza You Ever Have To Buy, All The Others Suck. But I guess that would mean they couldn't release any new pizza products.
This is pretty good actually. It's incredibly thick and has a crunchy focaccia crust, and it's probably the heaviest pizza box I've ever carried out of the store. At first I thought it came with its own pizza stone or something. Right now it's in two flavors: cheese with sun-dried tomatoes and pepperoni with spicy red pepper flakes. I tried the former, and while the taste of toasted sun-dried tomatoes got to me after a while (definitely a topping you can't overcook), it was tasty and filling. Tonight I'm going to buy the pepperoni version (and kudos for someone finally releasing a pizza that has those red pepper flakes on top!)

The thing about Digiorno is that they brought pizza crust to a whole new level. They are the only reason I would spend more than $3 on a freezer pizza.

I haven't heard of this new pizza until now, but the DiGiorno Ultimates I've had in the past are the best frozen pizzas I've ever had, by far. I think they're about as close as you can get to a homemade pizza baked on a pizza stone.

I tried this not too long ago and was a little disappointed. I have had such great focaccia bread before - but this pizza seemed like I was eating a slightly stale thick crust pizza. Instead of the dough being light and fluffy - it was super thick and crumbly. :(

As someone who moved from NYC years ago, I have learned to live without what I grew up calling pizza. Many pizza places in areas where I have lived have made passable attempts. Some, particularly in the SF Bay area, made some might fine pies. But the idea of purchasing a frozen pizza, or ordering one from a chain like Papa Johns, seems just plain pointless to me. I'd no more expect an edible pizza from these sources, than I would from a rib eye traced on and cut out of particle board.

I tried the red pepper flake version and it was SUPER spicy. My husband accused me of being a wimp and tried some, but it kicked his ass too. The dog, however, loved it. I'm going to try the other kinds next...I loved the foccacia style crust!

I have been a DiGiorno fan for years. By far the best frozen pizza I've ever tasted... even better than California Pizza Kitchen's frozen stuff.
About 6 months ago, I tried the regular Ultimate and was immediately hooked. My fav is the 3meat. Sometimes I kick it up a bit and add more mozz & pepperoni.
Last night I tried the 3meat/garlic crust Ultimate Focassia. WOW!!! IT WAS AWESOME!!!. This pizza really 'delivers' on taste. Pizza Hut won't be hearing from me for a loooonnnnnggggg time.
