Thursday Happy Hour: Sex and the City cocktails

Sex and the City

I was never a fan of the TV show Sex and the City. I know I'm not the demographic anyway, but I thought I'd at least like the show because it had attractive women and it was set in NYC and it was somewhat about writing. But I watched a couple of episodes and just couldn't get into it. Which means I won't be seeing the big screen movie when it opens on May 30.

But that doesn't mean I can't drink the cocktails inspired by the movie. After the jump are recipes for five drinks, all named after characters on the show/in the movie.

Sex and the City cocktails

CARRIE (aka THE NEW COSMO)

2 oz SKYY Vodka
1 oz Triple Sec
2 oz Mango Nectar
1/2 oz freshly squeezed Lime Juice
1/2 oz Simple Syrup

Shake with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with slice of dried Mango.

MIRANDA

2 oz SKYY Vodka
3/4 oz Campari
2 oz Pomegranate Juice
1 oz Triple Sec
Squeeze of Lemon

Shake with ice and strain into a chilled stem less flute. Garnish with a large Lemon twist.

CHARLOTTE

2 oz SKYY Vodka
3/4 oz Frangelico Hazelnut Liqueur
3/4 oz Amaretto Almond Liqueur
3/4 oz Godiva Dark Chocolate Liqueur
1 oz Half and Half

Shake with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with shaved Chocolate.

SAMANTHA

2 1/2 oz SKYY Vodka
1 1/2 oz Cabo Wabo Añejo Tequila
1 oz Simple Syrup
1 oz freshly squeezed Lime Juice
