Tip of the Day: Ice cupcakes like a pro

You're baking cupcakes for a special event, but lacking in the "fancy baking tools" department. Never fear -- you can frost stellar-looking cupcakes with nothing more than a knife.
A beautifully frosted cupcake
This trick is straight from the mouth of my mother. It takes a bit of practice, but I think they look just as good as any cupcakes frosted with special equipment.

1) Simply take a knife, and glob a hunk of frosting on top.
2) Then, hold the flat edge of your knife on the edge of the cupcake and rotate the cupcake so that the outside is looks smoothly iced.
3) Take the tip of your knife and use it to slowly draw circles in the cupcake, beginning around the outer rim and moving in toward the center.

With practice, you'll get cupcakes that are perfectly and beautifully swirled! Good luck!
