It doesn't get any better than this. If I had magical powers and could transport myself to any food festival in the country this weekend, I don't think I'd be able to decide where to go! We've got BBQ in Missouri and Pies in Florida, and starting next Wednesday (4/23), Texas is the place to be with festivals in both Houston and Dallas.Read on for details about all of these yummy events, and check out the gallery from last weekend's Scottsdale Culinary Festival!
Ninth Annual Rock'n Ribs BBQ Festival (April 18-19, 2008) - Head to Springfield, MO to watch over 60 teams compete to cook the best BBQ . For $7, you can listen to local bands, pet pigs, and of course sample delicious BBQ.
Great American Pie Festival (April 19-20, 2008) - I know that people bake pumpkin and pecan pies in the fall, but for me, summer has always been pie season. I baked my first pies ever (spiced peach and apple) for the 4th of July, but get a head start now at the Great American Pie Festival in Orlando, FL. I'll say nothing more than this: Never Ending Pie Buffet.
Dallas Wine and Food Festival (April 23-27, 2008) - Though some of the programs get a bit pricey, the quality that you'll get at this festival looks top-notch. Amazing events include Rising Stars Chefs' Dinner and Antojitos & Mojitos. Wait -- it's mojito season again? Excellent.
The Grand Food and Wine Affair (April 23-27, 2008) - While you're in Texas, don't miss this Houston festival. Over 100 wineries will be there, and numerous local chefs and restaurants are on board. There are tons of fancy wine-centric events, but I think the sip-and-stroll looks like the most fun of all.
Of course, let us know if you make to any! And also -- keep this tips of your local food festivals coming this way.
