Do remember those Burger King commercials with the group of moms who try to run over the Burger King? They wanted to commit vehicular homicide because their kids liked Burger King food better than their home cookin'.Not that I can blame the moms for how they feel, but I always thought that their methods were a little extreme. Yes, I know it's just a set of commercials, but still.
Well, the Costa Rican government apparently feels the same. They banned those commercials in Costa Rica. They feel the advertising "trivialized violence" on national television.
What do you think about the Costa Rican government stepping in like that?

Actually, those commercials were banned not as a government decision, but because many mothers were scandalized that those ads portrait other mothers as willing to commit an assassination. The Costa Rica censure office didn't find anything wrong (Personally, the ads sucks), but after many letters and comments in the national newspapers, the ads were pulled off. To note, there has been an uprise in crime and violence in some parts of the country, and an exponential increase in murders paid for (Coincidentally what the BK ad was all about).
