Tip of the Day: Have running water while working with raw meat

Do you need to turn the faucet on and off when you're working with raw meat? Here's how to keep it clean.

A person handling a whole raw chicken. When you're cooking and it includes raw meat, you may occasionally have to turn the water faucet on or off. But that means getting raw meat goo (as I like to call it) all over your kitchen sink. Blech.

One of the best things to do is wrap the faucet handles in plastic wrap before you get started. This way you can do whatever you have to water-wise without possibly spreading any nasty germs around. It also makes clean up a lot easier. So get out that plastic wrap and get cooking!
