I have been on the South Beach diet for the last ten days (thankfully, I'm coming to the end of phase one). It's been great for my waistline but not nearly so good for my sweet tooth or my baking mojo (both of which I've had to put on extended hiatus). I've done pretty well, sticking to the program, eating sugar free gelatin to satiate my cravings for dessert (to only limited satisfaction). However, around 3 pm yesterday, I suddenly was smacked with the most intense craving for a cookie. It really didn't matter what kind, at that moment I would have happily scarfed down any cookie waved in my direction.
I stayed tough and resisted the call of the cookie, but as I went off in search of a picture to feature today, I kept finding myself attracted to images of cookies. I will just sit here and gaze as the image longingly, for once grateful that I can't actually reach through the screen and chow down.
