Raise your hand if you're ready for warmer days and cooking outdoors! I, for one, certainly am. Sadly, I don't actually possess any outdoor space in which to grill (the downsides of living on the 20th floor) but I partake in the outdoor cooking of others whenever possible. This image of grilled skirt steak reminds me about all things that are good about summer, grilling and eating al fresco.
What's your favorite thing to throw on the grill?

Polish Kielbasa is great grilled. Also eggplant slices with a drizzle of olive oil and a little crushed garlic

I really love to do a rotisserie chicken! I have a great rub from penzy's that makes it extra yummy. Throw some corn on the cob in there last few minutes and some camp fire potatoes. (drooling like Homer Simpson)
Campfire potatoes are mage with a whole head of garlic, baked then mashed in a bowl with olive oil and salt. You slice a uncooked baked potatoe in 1 inch slices. Spread garlic on each slice, put back together to look like a potatoe again drizzle with olive oil, wrap in foil bake 450 for 45 minutes. Then if you have made them ahead just throw on the grill to reheat. i will make a couple during the week and have in the fridge and just reheat. Very yummy. To bad it is foggy and damp where I live right now.

So, I LOVE skirt steak, it's one of my favorite cuts; despite being from the plate, it's bursting with flavor and it sucks up marinade like a champ. But I have to say, this picture doesn't do much for me.
I think skirt ought to sport proper grill marks on the outside and be pink (or red) and juicy on the inside - so two checks there. But this looks like it's sitting in a puddle of au jus. That "au jus" is going to turn into pure fat in a few minutes - skirt is well marbled throughout and very fatty, which is why it's so flavorful. No one wants their meat congealing into shmaltz as they eat it. So this is far from food porn for me.
Some of us take our meat way too seriously. We know this, but we don't apologize for it. We're happy carnivores. My 2 cents only, of course.

I like Grilled Red Potato and Blue Cheese Salad (http://tinyurl.com/24znvy). It's a little labor intensive, but if you're grilling a great steak why settle for mediocre potato salad?

Marisa - Thanks for using my photo...although it may seem springy, believe it or not, I grilled this in the middle of an Ohio wintry January! Roll on Summer. You can grill in the cold, it is just not as much fun.
Adam - Good point on the au jus...unfortunately, the steak was a victim of inadequate rest, the rush to take pictures, and a hungry wife! Amen to the carnivore lifestyle though, I am right there with you!

I dont think that picture is skirt steak. Rather, it looks like flank steak, which is just as good as skirt in my opinion.

Sadly, I don't have an outdoor grill (well actually I do, what I don't have, is anyplace outside to USE it) so I rely on the kindness of invitations to cook outs (Families: Always invite your single friends who live in apartments to a cookout -- you don't know how often we crave it!). That said, I'd love to be able to throw whole ears of corn and a lobster tail on the grill. Roasted corn goodness and buttery lobster goodness, with grill marks. Mmm mmm mmm.
