Well it's St. Patrick's Day weekend. I know a lot of you will be out celebrating the Irish tonight. A lot of corned beef will be eaten and a lot of green beer will be consumed. Probably no small amount of back and tans will also be had, and Bass wants to help you out with that. The majority of these beer cocktails are poured using the back of a spoon, but that doesn't have to be. Your friends at Bass have a new gadget that will help you get the perfect pour every time. It's called the Brolly, and Bass wants you to have one for free. All you have to do is register for it, and be 21 or older of course, over at the Bass website. They also have step by step instructions as well as a demonstration video.
Even if you don't get the Brolly in time for St Paddy's this year, you can have it for next and with lots of practice. So go out and have a black and tan or two (responsibly) and celebrate the Irish in all of us!

Very strange. As someone from Ireland I've never quite understood why Americans celebrate Patricks Day by drinking a " beer cocktail" , ludicrous term, named after an english militia famous in Ireland for their brutality and criminality. A Black and Tan is made, by the way, with Guinness and Smithwicks Ale mixed, not ponciified by seperating the two, but mixed.

Ironically, Evan, I think it's because Bass and Guinness ads here tell us that a 'floated' Black & Tan is authentically Irish :)

Actually Evan is sort of right and the story goes that the brutal british troops couldn't handle guinness straight so they haad to cut it down with Bass (a british beer by the way not irish). Actually Evan just one other point of clarification a "BlackSmith" is Smithwicks and Guinness Layered and a Half and Half is Harp and Guinness Layered. The truth of the matter is should order either the blacksmith or the half and half and NEVER order a Black and Tan in a true Irish bar or risk the potential of offending the natives. Then again they are Irish and typically have thick skins so they will probably think American A** without saying anything if you do order a Black and Tan.
