You have to sign up to be a member if you want to write your own, but anyone can search for reviews. The simple interface makes it hard to screw up - just type in your search term and you're immediately inundated with dozens of potential choices.
Not sure what to search for? Snooth suggests using terms like "Cab Sauv," "good with pork," or "spice," and if the responses are too overwhelming, you can further narrow your results by price, year, type, region, or varietal.

It's all well and good to search databases of reviews. A good alternative may be Winescorecard.com. It uses your historical taste preferences to assemble your PalatePrint(tm). By finding other people with a similar PalatePrint(tm), the site generates wine recommendations specifically tailored to your palate.

If you are looking for a good recommendation for wines and live near a Total Wine and More Store...they are in NJ/DE/MD/VA/FL/NC/AZ/CA - the Check out Total Insider wine reviews. They only review wines you can get at Total Wine stores. Appears to be an angry employee :) , but the reviews are wonderful, they are fair, honest and even include recipe suggestions.
