What do you do if you're making several batches of cookies and you only have one cookie sheet?
This may seem like a "duh" moment for people who bake cookies a lot (or for people who bake anything a lot and don't want to use a baking sheet or don't have one), but it's a good tip nonetheless. If you're making a bunch of cookies but you only have one cookie sheet, use aluminum foil!
I usually use two layers of aluminum foil, even if you buy the "heavy duty" variety. I find that this works best.
There are a ton of things that you can do with aluminum foil: cover leftovers in your fridge, lining the bottom of your oven, lining the burners of your stove top, covering your turkey while it's in the oven. Heck, it even makes for pretty good wrapping paper at Christmas, if you're desperate. A lot of people swear by that clingy plastic wrap, but it never works for me. It's never clingy enough, it's a pain to work with, and it doesn't wrap as tightly as foil. I guess it's good when you're cooking stuff in the microwave, but even then I just use paper towels.
And here's a tip within a tip: buy a second cookie sheet, will ya? Make sure you get a heavy, thick one and not one of those cheapo jobs.
