There are times, albeit few and far between, when you not only want to eat a sandwich while on your 2-hour commute, but you actually want to make a sandwich in your car while on your 2-hour commute.Thank God for the RPDF168, colloquially known as the Road Pro 12 Volt Sandwich Maker!
The sandwich maker/panini press plugs directly into the cigarette lighter socket on your dashboard (do cars actually still have those things?!) with a 5 foot power cord and operating on 5 amps. The RPDF168 also features non-stick surfaces on the cooking plates.
Because the last thing you want when you're getting off the freeway is ham stuck to your RoadPro.

Perhaps you haven't bought a new car lately; they usually do have a lighter socket, but most new cars have just the socket for this kind of plug, with a little cover, but no lighter. (Maybe not for this kind of use, but...)

This ranks amont the stupidest gadgets I've ever seen. It's hard to imagine anyone actually buying this and using it more than once. The limits on future uses include that it's undoubtedly a nuisance to use while driving and the look from the police officer after you've crashed your car and tell him you were just making a panini.

This would actually be a great item to have for over-the-road truckers. Somehow I doubt that it is being marketed for the regular driver

I bet people who drive around in RVs would find it handy. A lot of them literally live out of their vehicles - they'll stop at campsites for water and electricity, but cooking, etc, can be done right in their on-board tiny kitchens.

this is sooo stupid...talk about an accident waiting to happen as you burn your self trying to make a sandwich in your car. Are our cars the new kitchen in our ever so busy lives that we can't take 2 minutes before you leave to assemble the damn thing on a kitchen counter top to eat in the car rather than press is and risk a car crash? I can see it now, next the the law stating no talking on cell phone while driving will be no making panini's while driving...wow..good luck with this one!
