Recently, the news has been full of reports about the dangerous levels of mercury found in fish. For women in their childbearing years, this news is very concerning, especially coupled with reports that came out last year about how the oils in fish were really good for fetus development. So, do you eat fish or cut it out? Luckily, there's web site that wants to help you make some sense out of the issue, at least when it comes to tuna fish. Simply punch your weight into the Tuna Calculator and it will give you a recommended weekly amount of tuna that you can safely consume. What will they think of next!

This only calculates the tinned tuna you can eat. Personally, I think tinned tuna is disgusting (has anyone actually smelt it?!), but I love tuna in sushi/sashimi or very lightly grilled, and this website doesn't differentiate between tinned and fresh (and, if there is no difference, it doesn't make that clear).
Maman is right ... if the butter, wine, beer, tea, coffee, pastry, potatoes etc etc don't get me, I'm sure the tuna will!

It's weird to think someone in some office had to say, "Today, I need you to program a tuna consumption calculator".

According to this, I've already eaten three times the healthy amount of tuna I'm allowed this week. Oh well, if curried tuna salad is gonna kill me, I'll go out eating a sandwich happily.
