We've heard those stories of spiders being found in imported grapes, but this one is new to me.
A woman in Brooklyn, NY was startled when a frog jumped out of her organic lettuce. That's right, not only was there a frog in a head of lettuce the woman bought at the Park Slope Food Coop, it was actually alive, surviving the trip from Florida to New York.
As you can see from the pic, it wasn't a big frog like you'd find in a swamp or lake, but still, must have been freaky.

When I got home my daughter and I each carried one from the car to the house. While I was unlocking the front door she let out a squeel. I turned to look at her and there was a tiny tree frog on her eyeglasses. We were pretty startled, but it was so funny. We live in Las Vegas so he obviously had traveled from somewhere else in the mum. We took her new pet to Petsmart to find out exactly what he was, and to buy him a home and everything he needed to be happy. Her new pet was free, but we spent about $75 to make sure he would be comphy and happy. He also requires a trip to Petsmart every two weeks or so for fresh baby crickets, who also have to have a home and food etc., We don't mind though because he's a lot of fun to have around. It's been 15 months and "Froggy" is happy and growing in his little froggy house.

It was in a frozen batch of spinich that was cut. I wonder if our veggies are inspected at all. Bagged or proccessed foods should be more regulated because if it is this easy to find animals in them, just imagine what else can be added and our food is not checked for human consumtion.
