Happy National Hard Candy Day!

Pillow Candy

When I found out that today is Natijonal Hard Candy Day, I realized that hard candies are something I don't eat anymore (unless you count cough drops as a hard candy). It wasn't any conscious decision to stop eating them, I just sort of drifted away from them. I used to eat them a lot, usually Jolly Rancher candies (watermelon was my favorite) or sometimes the pillow candy above during the holidays.

I also used to like ribbon candy, though I don't think I've eaten any of it since Carter was President. It's particularly cool to have around at Christmas.

Lollips are a hard candy, right? Even though they're on a stick?

Kojak

There's a theory that says that you should eat hard candy instead of other candy because it stays in your mouth longer and you won't eat too much of it (unlike chocolate or soft candy or snack foods). I believe that.

What's your favorite hard candy?
