Is there any other cookie that symbolizes the holiday season, in shape and look, than a cookie shaped like a star? It has that Christmas look, and it's a cookie you'd want to hang on your tree as much as eat it.
I scoured the web and found a punch of different star cookie recipes for you to try this holiday. I tried to get a mix of different flavors and different colors. If you find anymore, please let us know in the comments.
1. Christmas Star Cookies. These are from BrightIdeas.com and utilizes red and green M&Ms (you'll find them at the supermarket this time of year) for that festive look.
2. Christmas Stars. Yeah, a lot of these cookies have the same name. But these have that stained glass look in the middle, a sugar cookie with strawberry jam in the middle, though I guess you could substitute any flavor/color of jam for a nice variation on the plate.

3. Stenciled Christmas Stars. This isn't a recipe per se (though you can find a recipe for the cookies at the site) but it gives you a good idea on how to add some colorful stars to the top of your holiday cookies.

4. Star Cookie Christmas Tree. I like it when you can take a food item that is shaped like a certain thing and then make a whole new design out of it. In this case, it's Christmas Star cookies that are stacked to create Christmas tree! I think that deep down we all want to not only make nice food for the holidays but also make it look good a la Martha Stewart (or at least Sandra Lee). This looks pretty darn easy to do too.

5. Zimtsterne (Cinnamon Star Cookies). These German cookies are a tradition in many homes during the holidays. RecipeZaar says that the dough can be really sticky, so cutting them might be a challenge. They sound great though, with the almonds and cinnamon and meringue glaze combo.
