I had to get this post up early in the morning, since French Toast is something you'll probably want to eat for breakfast. Though I guess it could be a brunch meal too. Oh, who am I kidding. We've all eaten cold pizza for breakfast before and cereal for dinner, so meals are all screwed up nowadays.
Here's a basic French Toast recipe, and here's one for Cinnamon French Toast. How about some Bourbon Ball French Toast (at least I think it's French Toast - hard to see it under all the whipped cream and strawberries)? When I worked at a breakfast place years ago we made it with Anadama Bread.

As a child I had a queasy nervous stomach in the mornings, especially on school days. My usual breakfast was maybe one piece of toast and water. That was all, if anything, I could make myself eat without getting sick. I would always be hungry and ready to eat around 10:00 am; on school days that was just too bad because lunch time didn't happen until 11:30. But sometimes on the weekends my mom would make a batch of French Toast around 10:00 just for me and enough to share with my sibs. My brother and sister would load it up with all that syrup. I liked mine with just a little bit of butter. If mom ran out of eggs, she made eggless French Toast. She would melt a big pan of butter and dip and saturate the bread slices in it then fry them in a hot iron skillet. One of my favorite toppings would be pancake syrup with smooth peanut butter stirred into it then drizzled over top. Now that was a treat!! I can still taste how good that was to me, and I'm 55 years old! Now I know that you all are thinking about the health issues here, but hey, at least I used peanut butter!! And I must admit, even today I allow myself that childhood pleasure of eggless French Toast with Peanut Butter Syrup! It's soooooooo worth it!!!
