One last bam?
Mediabistro's Fishbowl NY says that Emeril Lagasse will not be returning to the Food Network after contract negotiations between him and Scripps Howard went nowhere.
Emeril will tape his last show on December 11.
So readers....are you going to miss him? I can't say I will. I really couldn't watch his show, with the bams and the live band and audience.
Update: Looks like Emeril isn't leaving the network altogether, just ending Emeril Live. He'll continue with Essence of Emeril and other projects.

Check out the spare tire this chick's getting.

Look at the recent contest for a NEW Iron Chef. Everything today is a contest followed by some stupid subjective vote.

To its credit, the Network has evolved a number of new personalities...Paula Deen for example. Elton Brown is probably the best food education show they have, and the Iron Chef and challenge shows the least so...they go so fast you cannot learn anything practical, and the cost of the ingredients they use is beyond the reach of many viewers. I hope Emeril does not pass from public view, but if he loses his black pepper grinder for virtually everything he makes, I will not be sad.

Sick of the EVOO and garbage bowl c---. And man my family this and my family that - she's all over her self and how she always says I just crack myself up. But I guess she's cheap enough to keep..............

It seems like there is a new cooking show every month...I like to look for easy meals to cook that are healthy. I do not really like all the extra stuff in shows( band playing etc..) just give me the recipe sweet & simple.

The Food Network is playing to a new audience with their last two chefs, Guy and Amy, and the new American Iron chef, Michael, three mistakes right there - unless they are aiming for a different "group" of people. I guess that's where they are headed. It seems to me that I can never find a "new" show whenever I have time to watch, always reruns.

There are so many cooks that are not on the Food network anymore, that were great.. Bring them back!!!

Food Network is so Disney these days. That man has been there since day one.Gave his all and put them on the TV map.If it is fishbowl tv they owe it to him to come up with some new stuff. He does have all of his other things going on and they do it for the newer host.Opera needs to buddy up with him and give a new food channel a shot.
