Most of the fast food chains out there are forthcoming about how bad their food is for you. Most places will give you a brochure that contains the nutritional information of their sandwiches, salads and fries. If they don't have a paper copy, they'll point you in the direction of their website. However, Quiznos has been holding out on their customers for some time, refusing to make public their fat and calorie statistics. Last Friday, Quiznos finally released their data and it's not pretty in a couple ways. First off, they didn't design an easily navigated site, so you have to hunt and peck for the data. Second, their food is not particularly health conscious (not that that should be a surprising fact). According to the blog Fast Food News, the "Quiznos Tuna Melt has the highest calorie and fat totals of any of their sandwiches! The large Tuna Melt has over 2,000 calories and 175 grams of fat!! (The regular size has 1,420 calories and 118 grams of fat, the small 770 calories and 60 grams of fat!)" Now that's a hunky sandwich.

Subway is perfect, the sandwiches taste good and are the right amount of food for the selections I like. I love Planet Sub and just found out their nutritional analysis is very straightforward and availale, but I'm glad I consider them an occasional lunch. (My fave, 6" BLT, is a bit over 600 calories.)

Dangelo's is pretty tasty, but I doubt they're particularly healthy. A subway 12 incher fills me up quite well, and I don't feel bloated or greased up.

I like Quizno's a lot more, and I don't feel the need for everything I need to be the pinnacle of eating right. I'm a six-foot-tall, 130 lbs. male so I don't really watch what I eat much ...

I finally tried it again a few weeks back. I got a chicken sub with double meat. Still not enough meat, and after eating all three people in my group were ready for more food. After giving serious consideration to getting a slice of pizza, we just decided against it.
Boston Market will give you a full meal for about the same price. Don't eat the skin (and avoid the carvers) and you can keep your calories and fat very low.
It's the only fast food I'll eat.
