Kid Rock puts the Waffle House in the news

stools at the Hellertown Waffle House
The Waffle House, a bastion of cheap breakfasts and surprisingly great waffles, now has a reason other than tasty food to be in the news. Musician Kid Rock got a little rowdy in an Atlanta-area Waffle House Saturday night after a show, beat up a male customer (with the help of five of his groupies) and got sent to jail for his actions. Apparently the man they bloodied knew a woman who was with Kid Rock's party. They exchanged words, it got heated and Kid and his friends just got involved in order to defend her virtue. Or something like that.

Let's hope this doesn't sully the reputation of the esteemed Waffle House, as they really do serve of one of the better chain diner breakfasts available. I recently ate one in Hellertown, PA (the morning after a very raucous wedding reception) and was delighted by the awesomeness of the food.

But how dare you not mention the hash browns? The true raison d'etre of the Waffle House?

Mmm, scattered, smothered, and covered....

Perhaps you should start, or better still rename your site " Slashjunkfood.com/yuck"

Don;t worry I won't ever be posting or visiting this site again...

The Waffle House in Hellertown is definitely a GOOD one, too. All of the locations we have locally here in the valley are decent.

Alas, all the restaurants in the vicinity were closed, except for Waffle House. Thus we went in, and had a yummy meal. And from then on, we went to Waffle House *every* Thanksgiving until I was about 15 and I said "enough with the damn waffles and greasy bacon already!" and my mom seconded the motion and we stopped going. But I guess it was fun to have the tradition....

Ps- people care about the waffle house because this is a FOOD blog, not a celebrity blog....shocker, I know. (snicker)
