Blueberries are the healthiest fruit

blueberriesThat's according to Mehmet Oz, the doctor who always appears on Oprah in his scrubs, talking about colons, and Joel Harper, in this quick Q and A at Esquire.com.

Oz and Harper (a personal trainer) answer several questions about food, health, and exercise. Besides declaring blueberries the healthiest fruit, they also say that the only good thing about pizza is the sauce, that colon cleansing isn't really worth it, and that a little alcohol isn't bad for us at all. They also answer the question on whether it's ok to eat something that has fallen on the floor as long as we pick it up within five seconds.

As for the pizza advice, I think there's another good thing that they're forgetting: pizza is totally awesome!

What about all the veggies you can put on pizza? Sure a pizza is bad for you if it's covered in six different meats and a pound of cheese, but a thin-crust veggie pizza light on the cheese has its nutritional merits, too.

They make that. Don't they? Frozen maybe, or homemade.

I personally like a light cheese/heavy sauce w/ green peppers and onions pizza. That's gotta be an exception to the no pizza rule.

Blueberrys are a cheaper and tastier alternative but they are not the best. This is not the first time Ophra has mislead her fans. Remember her book of the month choice last year? I do. I you are looking for the best buy any juice you see with Acia berry. For more info go to http://www.acai.vg/acai_history.html

Place on a pizza stone....cover with chopped fresh tomatoes.....any herbs or spices you choose....onions (very good for you).....and or any other veggies. For the cheese, I will use homemade mozarella,,,,,called boccacelli to which I slice thinly and place about the pie. All fresh ingredients........and BTW.......save your blueberries for a yummy desert served with low fat vanilla yogurt!!!

She is going to have her whole colon removed, so while colonoscopies sound terrible, they could also save your life, and at any age. there's so much msg and garbage in our food these days, its making people sick. does anyone have any suggestions on the colon cleanse? ive read and heard where people that do them have new found enery and get rid of waste that is just sitting there in their gutt, and they also lose weight from it. any information is greatly appreciated

I have a problem when some over weight, barely educated talk show host brings guests on her show and ...oh my God, it must be true, I saw it on Oprah. Please, people get off your fat a**es and get a real life, loose a few pounds and remember Oprah is a business making a fortune off you. Oprah is making a fortune off of your stupidity.

If he did his research like one sHOULD do, he'd realize that he is WRONG, WRONG, WRONG.....The healthiest fruit on this planet, the one fruit that is amazingly wonderful for your body on a variety of levels is called the MANGOSTEEN and I dare anyone who lives on this planet to do the research and refute this but they can't because what I've just written is a FACT. AND THIER OPINIONS WILL NEVER CHANGE FACTS. DO THE RESEARCH. ANTIOXIDENT, ANTI INFLAMMATORY, ANTI HISTAMINE, ANTI VIRAL, ANTI BACTERIAL AND THE LIST JUST GOES ON AND ON. THERE IS NO BETTER FRUIT ON THIS PLANET.

But at the end of it all, thats what made up my mind that this article is true in its writing. Blueberries ARE the best fruit for you.

For those posters who listed the Acia berry and the Mangosteen as the healthiest fruits, I think you should take into account that blueberries are one of the healthiest fruit that are readily available in our local markets. I don't think Doctor Oz was suggesting we all find an exotic market out of town to find some Acia berries or Mangosteens! Sheesh. So, stop being such elitist know-it-alls. Can we all agree blueberries are one of the healthiest fruits? OK? Thanks.

It's no wonder Americans are overweight. Pizzas in Italy are thin crusted, thin layer of marinara and a sprinkle of cheeses and that's it - no thick crust, no one inch layer of cheese and no pile it high, italian sausage, pepperoni, etc.
