It's becoming very clear that we can't eat anything anymore. Just lock yourself in your home and make everything from scratch.
Banquet is recalling all of its frozen chicken and turkey pot pies after a salmonella outbreak made 100 people sick. The company that owns Banquet, ConAgra, even went so far as to completely stop making the pies yesterday while the cases are investigated.
Here's a little twist to this particular recall story: they're also telling consumers not to eat "similar generic brands." Yikes. Here's all the info on the recall, including what code numbers to look for and what to do if you want a refund.
Oddly enough, I'm posting a recipe for a chicken pot pie today.

Let the bashing of big corporations begin. That they are intentionally poisoning us on behalf of their own "self interest". Yep all this press must be jacking up their stocks.
Jumping off the band wagon... They make yucky/unhealthy food anyways. But then again when you're poor and have no time to cook for the kids... what can you ask for?
I had my share of frozen dinners when I was a kid, how bout you guys?

According to the US Centers for Disease, Controls, and Prevention, salmanonelosis can be prevented by cooking to appropriate temperature.
Are people not doing this with these frozen products, or is there a secondary cause?

Most frozen prepared foods are pre-cooked or par-cooked, and the consumer is not expected to cook a frozen pot pie to 180 degrees. There are exceptions.

I have a question. What about Banquet Dinners. Can that make you sick too? Does that have salmonella too? The reason why I ask is Banquet Dinners are so cheap in prices at the stores. I usually eat one a day for lunch at work.. I have not gotten the symtoms yet, I better knock on wood. LOL.. But is there anyone out there that can answer my question? thank you.

Has anyone heard of someone getting sick from other Banquet Chicken Meals. My daughter ate a chicken strips meal and was sick all night. I had heard about Con Agra pot pies recall but didn't realize that Banquet Meal were from Con Agra. The chicken strips may have made her sick, I'm looking into it.

My mother age 68 has been sick for 2 weeks now, since she ate 4 of the chiken pot pies that were on sale at the local grocery store. What role do the stores that sell these dinners play?
