You didn't think this week was going to go by without a food recall notice, did you?
Topps Meat Company is recalling over 331,000 pounds of frozen hamburger because of E. coli concerns. Six people have gotten sick from the contamination, and three of them had to be hospitalized.
The patties were distributed under several different names and several different box sizes and dates. Here's a complete list of the recalled items from the USDA.

The intestines (full of feces) are very often cut in the process, showering the raw meat in excrement. E. coli contimination is rampant in factory farms. The spinach farms in California that were the source of E. coli contimination are situated next to huge feed lots. Feed lots are confined areas where an overpopulation of cows are kept before slaughter. The unhealthy conditions breed disease (hence all the antibiotic use) and are notorious for E. coli. Unless you watched your meat be slaughtered (or know your butcher) you can be sure you're eating feces with every bite. Read "Fast Food Nation" if you want more information about the current state of industrial food in America.
